This is a small personal training business, so this page is short and in plain words. It covers adamstrain-llc.com, the consult booking page, and the training app clients sign in to, on the web and as the AdamsTrain iPhone and Android apps. If anything here is unclear, email me and ask.
Who you are dealing with
AdamsTrain LLC, run by Bryan Adams, personal training in Overland Park, Kansas. Questions about anything on this page go to bryan@adamstrain-llc.com.
What I collect
Only what I need to answer you, book you, bill you, and coach you.
- Contact form: your name, email, the goal you pick, and whatever you write in the message box.
- Consult booking: your name, email, phone number if you give one, what you want help with, and the time you chose.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. Card numbers go straight to Stripe and never touch my systems. I see your name, email, the amount, the last four digits, and whether a payment went through.
- If you train with me: your session history, the lifts and weights you did, my notes from our sessions, body measurements and InBody scans, bodyweight, progress photos you choose to upload, food you log, and messages between us.
- If you connect a wearable: daily numbers like sleep, steps, heart rate and workouts from Oura, Fitbit, WHOOP or Apple Health. This only happens if you connect it yourself, and you can disconnect it any time.
- Ordinary technical logs kept by the company that hosts the site, such as IP address and error records.
The iPhone and Android apps: camera, microphone, notifications and Apple Health
Both apps ask for each of these only when you tap the thing that needs it, and you can say no to any of them and still use the rest of the app. You can change your mind any time in your phone's Settings.
- Camera, for barcodes: the barcode is read on your phone. Only the number is sent, to look the food up in Open Food Facts, a public food database. No picture is saved.
- Camera, for meal photos: if you snap a meal instead of typing it, the photo is uploaded and stored with that meal in your food log, where you and I can see it. It is also sent to an AI service to estimate what is on the plate.
- Microphone: when you log by voice, the recording is sent to a transcription service to turn it into text. The app keeps the text you save, not the recording.
- Notifications: if you turn them on in the iPhone app, your phone gives the app a device token, and I store it so I can send you reminders and messages from me. Turning notifications off in the app deletes it. If you turn them off in your phone's Settings instead, it is deleted the next time Apple reports it no longer works. The Android app does not send notifications yet, so it stores no device token.
- Apple Health (iPhone app only): read only. If you allow it, the app reads steps, sleep, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, weight, body fat, lean mass and workouts, and sends them to your record so I can coach you with them, including in the session plans I draft with an AI service (see below). It never writes anything to Apple Health. Your Health data is never sold, never shared for advertising or marketing, and never used for ads. The Android app does not read any health data from your phone.
Why I have it
To reply to you, run your sessions and program, take payment, send reminders and check-ins, and keep the business's records. That is the whole list. I do not build advertising profiles.
Who else touches it
I use a handful of well-known services to actually run things. They only get what they need to do their job:
- Vercel, which hosts the website and app, and stores files you upload.
- A managed Postgres database, which is where your records live.
- Stripe, for payments and subscriptions.
- Google, for the calendar your sessions are booked on and for document storage.
- Resend, which sends the emails from me.
- Twilio, which sends and receives the text messages.
- Apple, which delivers notifications to the iPhone app.
- Anthropic and OpenAI, AI services that estimate a meal from your description or photo, turn a voice recording into text, and help me draft your session plans from your training notes and numbers.
- Open Food Facts, which gets a barcode number when you scan one, and nothing else.
- Oura, Fitbit, WHOOP or Apple Health, only if you connect one.
There are no analytics tools, no advertising pixels, and no third-party scripts or embeds on this site.
I do not sell your information
I do not sell it, rent it, or hand it to anyone for advertising. The only time I would share it outside the services above is if the law required it, or if you asked me to.
Cookies
The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookies are ones it needs to work: the ones that keep you signed in (one for the client app, and one for my own admin login), a short-lived one while you connect a wearable, one that remembers the friend's link you came in through so they get the credit, and one that remembers you already took the match quiz. Inside the iPhone and Android apps there is one more, which only tells the site which app it is running in so it shows the right instructions. None of them follow you to other sites, which is why there is no cookie banner to click through.
Text messages
If you tick the box to get texts on one of my forms, or ask me to text you, you are agreeing to receive text messages from AdamsTrain about your training: appointment reminders, scheduling, check-ins and replies to you. Texting is optional: you never have to agree to it to book a consult or to train with me.
- Message frequency varies.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to any message to stop them. Reply HELP for help.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
- Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party.
Health information
I am a personal trainer, not a doctor or a medical provider, so this is not medical record keeping and it is not covered by HIPAA. I keep the training and body information you give me so I can coach you properly, and I do not share it with anyone.
How long I keep it, and how to have it deleted
I keep client records while we work together and for a reasonable time after, because tax and payment records have to be kept. Enquiries that never become clients get cleared out once they are stale.
You can ask for a copy of what I hold, or ask me to correct it. Email bryan@adamstrain-llc.com and I will take care of it within 30 days.
To delete your account and your training data, tap Delete my account at the bottom of Settings in the app (Me, then Settings), or email me. It is done within 7 days, and you will get a message when it is. The one thing I cannot delete is what I am required to keep for payment and tax records.
Young people
The site and the app are meant for adults. I do not create app accounts for anyone under 18 without a parent or guardian involved.
